The invention relates to a superheater containing a tube assembly exposed to combustion gases comprising longitudinally welded tubes, the combustion gases in particular from the combustion of fuels selected from the group consisting of domestic waste, industrial waste, biomass and sewage sludge, according to the invention, the longitudinally welded tubes from only a single layer of a nickel-based alloy or a special stainless steel are made. The invention further relates to a steam generator and a method for generating superheated steam in respective steam generators. The longitudinally welded nickel-base alloy or special stainless steel pipes are suitable for use as superheater pipes in steam generators and meet the requirements of high corrosion resistance, good hot workability, good tensile strength and structural stability. The superheater pipes made of these materials no longer require an outer coating or build-up weld coating because they are sufficiently corrosion resistant.
