SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS FOR MONITORING A PERSON USING A WEARABLE SENSOR AND MANAGING A TURN SCHEDULE FOR THE PERSON

Systems, devices, and methods are provided for managing a turn protocol for a person. A turn protocol may define turn protocol parameters, e.g., (a) turn angle parameters regarding defined orientations or orientation changes, (b) turn time or frequency parameters corresponding with defined orientations or orientation changes, and/or (c) depressurization parameters regarding a defined depressurization of area(s) of the person's body over time. A wearable sensor device may include sensor(s) and a processor to determine whether the person has moved from a bed or other support surface to a bed exit state, a standing state, or an ambulating state, and in response, automatically suspend the turn protocol and/or adjust selected turn protocol parameter(s) of the turn protocol. In other embodiments, the wearable sensor device may monitor an inclination angle of the person's torso, and automatically adjust turn parameter(s) of the turn protocol as a function of the determined torso inclination angle.
