Causeway comprising a network of piles in which: – some of the piles are hollow piles (12e),which means to say hollow piles each comprising: a central hollow (30) extending vertically from its base to its top, and a slot (32) extending continuously from its base to its top and fluidically connecting the central hollow to the external surroundings of the pile (12e), and – these hollow piles (12e) are arranged on the inside of the network in such a way that at least one row in three of elementary cells comprises at least one elementary cell containing a hollow pile (12e) and, – in 90% of these rows, the elementary cells which contain this hollow pile (12e) are situated at the same locations as in the other rows which comprise at least one elementary cell containing a hollow pile (12e).
