To provide functional nucleic acid molecules as a microbe detecting tool targeting ammonium-oxidizing bacteria which conduct important reactions in biological wastewater treatment process.SOLUTION: The nucleic acid comprises at least one polynucleotide selected from: (a) 27 polynucleotides comprising specific sequences; (b) a polynucleotide binding to an ammonium oxidizing bacterium comprising a base sequence having 90% or more identity to anyone of the base sequences of (a); (c) 27 polynucleotides comprising specific base sequences different from the sequences of (a); (d) a polynucleotide binding to an ammonium oxidizing bacterium comprising a base sequence having 90% or more identity to anyone of the base sequences of (c), where the nucleic acid specifically binds to ammonium-oxidizing bacteria.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
