To provide: a microcapsule coating that can become one expanding the use of a cellulose nanofiber; a microcapsule formulation; and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The microcapsule formulation of the present invention comprises a core particle and a microcapsule coating surrounding the core particle, and in which the microcapsule coating contains a cellulose nanofiber to which a styrene-based compound is added. The microcapsule formulation of the present invention can be produced, for example, by adding a styrene-based compound to a cellulose nanofiber to produce a coating material, and mixing and decompressing the coating material and core particles in the presence of a supercritical fluid or a subcritical fluid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
