To provide a converter for an electromagnetic flow meter, an electromagnetic flow meter, and a method for operating a flow rate which can secure a stable interval for an excitation current by simple processing regardless of the type of a detector and the diameter of a measurement tube.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a converter for an electromagnetic flow meter which determines the flow rate of a fluid on the basis of a signal electromotive force proportional to the rate of a fluid flowing in the measurement tube of a detector having an excitation coil. The converter includes: a current measurement unit for measuring the magnitude of an excitation current as an excitation current value before a signal becomes stable at an excitation switching point; and a current controller for fixing the magnitude of the excitation current at an excitation current value while the signal is stable at the excitation switching point.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
