To provide a future state estimation method and a future state estimation device capable of estimating, at high speed, a state of a control target and a state of an ambient environment thereof at an infinite time ahead in the form of a probability density distribution within a finite state space.SOLUTION: The future state estimation device includes: a model storage unit that stores a simulation target and a model that simulates an ambient environment of the simulation target; a future state prediction result storage unit that stores information obtained by estimating future states of a simulation target and an ambient environment of the simulation target at an infinite time or time step ahead in a form of a probability density distribution within a finite state space; and a future state prediction calculation unit that performs calculations equivalent to a series using a model that simulates the future states of the simulation target and the ambient environment of the simulation target in the form of probability density distribution.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
