To provide apparatus and methods for culturing neurons allowing an axon bundle extended from a neuron to grow rapidly in vitro.SOLUTION: Provided is an apparatus for culturing neuronal assembly having a spheroid and an axon bundle extending in one direction from the spheroid, comprising a culture plate, and a plurality of modules arranged in the culture plate, each module comprising a first chamber capable of receiving a cell body of a neuron, a second chamber, and a channel which is capable of receiving the axis bundle extending from the cell body and contacts the first chamber with the second chamber, the lower end of the first chamber, the second chamber, and the channel being closed, the upper end of the first chamber and the second chamber being opened, the channel having a length of 1 [mm] or more, and the neuronal assembly being cultured in the state where it can be extracted one by one in each module.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
