PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of detecting that drowsiness is occurring in a subject.;SOLUTION: A drowsiness detection device 100 determines that drowsiness is occurring in a subject 110 when it is determined that a respiration cycle of the subject 110 satisfies a first condition based on the information on the respiration cycle of the subject 110. The drowsiness detection device 100 determines whether or not an index value indicating variations in the expiration time in each respiratory movement of the subject 110 satisfies a second condition when it is determined that the respiration cycle of the subject 110 no longer satisfies the first condition after it is determined that drowsiness is occurring in the subject 110.
