To provide an automatic driving suggestion device and an automatic driving suggestion method capable of inhibiting a situation where a driving take-over request is made immediately after the start of automatic driving.SOLUTION: An automatic driving suggestion device 4 is used in a vehicle which allows the selection of one state of an automatic driving state and a manual driving state. The automatic driving suggestion device comprises: a request unit 25; an automatic driving determination unit 27; a calculation unit 29; a calculation value determination unit 31; and a suggestion unit 33. The request unit makes a driving take-over request when the vehicle arrives at a take-over point. The automatic driving determination unit determines whether automatic driving is possible or not. The calculation unit calculates a calculation value such as a prediction time until the vehicle arrives at the take-over point. The calculation value determination unit determines whether the calculation value is greater than a threshold or not. The suggestion unit suggests the automatic driving, on the basis of necessary conditions that the automatic driving is determined to be possible, and that the calculation value is determined to be greater than the threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
