PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monkey wrench in which a movable jaw can be easily set at a predetermined position and can remain stationary to keep an open width unchanged during tightening/loosening a bolt or a nut.;SOLUTION: A monkey wrench comprises: a body 12 marked with a scale 22 indicating an open width W; and a movable jaw 13 engraved with a series of grooves 14, which is engaged using a ratchet function with a stopper 15 energized with energizing means 17, in a state of providing an open width W corresponding to a distance between opposing side faces of a bolt or a nut. The ratchet function provides directionality that allows the movable jaw 13 to freely slide in a direction to narrow the open width W, while that fixes the movable jaw 13 with an engagement with the stopper 15 in a direction to widen the open with W. For widening the open width W, the engagement between the grooves 14 and the energized stopper 15 is manually released to enable the movable jaw 13 to be slid in the direction to widen the open width W.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
