PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ocular optical system which offers good aberration performance by suppressing variations in aberrations caused by diopter adjustment within an adjustable range, and to provide an optical device and a method of manufacturing the ocular optical system.;SOLUTION: An ocular optical system ELO comprises an erect image forming member PP, a first lens group G1, and a second lens group G2 having positive refractive power in order from the observation object side, where the first lens group G1 and the second lens group G2 are spaced apart by a distance greater than any inter-lens distances within the first lens group G1 and the second lens group G2. The second lens group G2 has at least one lens component which is a movable lens component Gdp configured to move along an optical axis during diopter adjustment.
