To select an item expected to have a relatively high advertising effect, as a candidate for an item to which a recommendation advertisement is to be added.SOLUTION: An advertisement addition device 20 comprises an item selection unit 33 which selects a candidate for an item to which a recommendation advertisement is to be added by a recommendation advertisement determination unit 34, from a plurality of items. The item selection unit 33 comprises: an arithmetic unit 41 which calculates, with respect to each item of the items, a recommendation evaluation value by using at least one of a visit count evaluation value relating to a predictive cumulative visit count of the item during a prescribed period from publication of the item, a display frequency evaluation value relating to a predictive advertisement display frequency in the item during the prescribed period from publication of the item, and a profitability evaluation value relating to a predictive profit of the item during the prescribed period from publication of the item; and a selection unit 42 which selects a candidate for an item to which a recommendation advertisement is to be added, from the plurality of items on the basis of recommendation evaluation values of respective items calculated by the arithmetic unit 41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
