To provide a thermal transfer image receiving sheet which can lower coloring density of a highlight part of a transfer image, and can also suppress a tailing phenomenon and abnormal transfer under high temperature environment.SOLUTION: A thermal transfer image receiving sheet forms a transfer image on an image receiving layer by overlapping a sublimation type thermal transfer sheet, where the image receiving layer is formed by crosslinking a coated film containing emulsion A, emulsion B and a mold-releasing agent, when a solid content of the emulsion B is set at 1 pts.mass, a solid content of the emulsion A is set at 1.5 to 5.0 pts.mass, and the mold-release agent based on the total amount of the solid contents of the emulsions A and B is set at 1.0 to 10.0 wt.%. Emulsion A: vinyl chloride emulsion using an emulsifier, where a glass transition point of the resin content is 80°C or higher. Emulsion B: vinyl chloride emulsion formed by polymerization of an acrylic resin as a protective colloid without using an emulsifier, where a glass transition point of the resin content is 70°C or higher.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
