To further efficiently press-in a pile by reducing resistance in pressing-in a pile.SOLUTION: A chuck device 1 is provided in a pile press-in apparatus which receives reaction force from an existing steel pipe pile P and presses-in a steel pipe pile into the ground. The chuck device 1 comprises a chuck portion 9, a hydraulic motor 66 and a gear 67. The chuck portion 9 is chuck means for gripping the steel pipe pile. The hydraulic motor 66 and the gear 67 are rotation means which can continuously rotate the steel pipe pile gripped by the chuck portion 9 in at least one rotation direction by continuously rotating the chuck portion 9 in at least one rotation direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
