PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbine protection device and a diagnostic method for a turbine protection device, which can improve the accuracy of self diagnosis.;SOLUTION: An input module targeted for diagnosis outputs a state signal at the time of diagnosis, which is obtained by processing an inputted state signal to indicate an abnormal state, to a plurality of stop determination circuits and a diagnostic circuit. Input modules other than the input module targeted for diagnosis output an inputted state signal to the plurality of stop determination circuits. The diagnostic circuit determines which of a normal state and an abnormal state the state signal at the time of diagnosis indicates, by comparing the state signal at the time of diagnosis with an inputted diagnosis signal. When the state signal at the time of diagnosis indicates a normal state, the diagnostic circuit diagnoses the input module targeted for diagnosis as being abnormal and outputs an alarm. When the state signal at the time of diagnosis indicates an abnormal state, the diagnostic circuit diagnoses the input module targeted for diagnosis as being normal and does not output an alarm.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
