To provide an apparatus for determining a cost-versus-effect of vibration/noise problem adapted to provide as support information evaluation information for a measure to suppress vibration or noise in designing a newly developed product or considering an improvement plan for an existing product.SOLUTION: An apparatus for determining a cost-versus-effect of vibration/noise problem 40 comprises a vibration/noise-problem deterrence probability table generation part 42 that generates a posteriori vibration/noise-problem deterrence probability table associating a presence/absence of a prior-tackling measure implementation with a posteriori-problem occurrence deterrence rate on the basis of a vibration/noise-transmission-path probability inference model to be inputted, a cost list generation part 41 that generates a cost list on the basis of a prior/posteriori cost list consists of a prior cost required for implementing a suppression measure of each piece of vibration/noise problem and a posteriori cost required after a problem occurrence, and a profit table generation part 43 that generates a profit table on the basis of the posteriori vibration/noise-problem deterrence probability table and the cost list. On the basis of the profit table, a predicted vibration/noise level at an implementation of the relevant measure together with an optimal application measure is presented to the user, including variations and fluctuation width.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
