To provide a fixing device that can prevent wear of a fixing belt with the ends of a recording medium, and an image forming apparatus including the same.SOLUTION: This fixing device 30 comprises: a fixing member 31 that includes a fixing belt 31a; a pressure roller 32 that is in contact with the fixing member 31 to form a fixing nip part N; a pressure mechanism 40 that causes the pressure roller 32 to press the fixing member 31 to apply a nip pressure to the fixing nip part N; a pressure changing mechanism 50 that changes the nip pressure to the fixing nip part N; and a moving mechanism 60 that moves the fixing member 31 in a sheet width direction orthogonal to a sheet conveyance direction. The pressure mechanism 40 includes a holding member 41 that rotatably holds the pressure roller 32 and is swingably supported in a direction to contact/separate from the fixing member 31; the moving mechanism 60 moves the fixing member 31 in the sheet width direction in conjunction with application or release of the nip pressure performed by the pressure changing mechanism 50.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
