To accurately measure a water ship speed and a tidal current regardless of a distribution bias of present planktons of a single fish.SOLUTION: The present disclosure includes a tidal current measuring device 2 including: a single fish detection unit 26 detecting whether the target is a single fish on the basis of a difference in pulse width between an ultrasonic irradiation beam and an ultrasonic reflection beam; a water ship speed measuring unit 23 measuring the water ship speed when the single fish is not detected as a target, based on the Doppler frequency between the ultrasonic irradiation beam and the ultrasonic reflection beam, and stopping the measurement of water ship speed when the single fish is detected as a target; and a tidal current measuring unit 25 measuring the tidal current.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
