To provide an access point and a control method therefor, which can perform the setting of a radio access point while improving security and further reducing user load.SOLUTION: An access point 10 which performs radio communication with a radio slave unit includes: a fingerprint reading unit 12 which reads the fingerprint of a user U to acquire the fingerprint data of the user U; a fingerprint storage unit 13 which stores beforehand the fingerprint data of the user U and function information, which is information related to a specific setting function among the setting functions for setting the access point 10, in an associative manner; a fingerprint collation unit 14 which determines whether or not the fingerprint data acquired by the fingerprint reading unit 12 is already stored in the fingerprint storage unit 13; and a function identification unit 15 which, when the fingerprint collation unit 14 determines that the fingerprint data acquired by the fingerprint reading unit 12 is already stored in the fingerprint storage unit 13, refers to the fingerprint storage unit 13 to identify function information associated with the fingerprint data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
