To provide a lay-up tool for facilitating transfer of a laminate to a cure tool.SOLUTION: A system and a method are provided for adjustable tools. One embodiment is a method that comprises a step of laying up a laminate of fiber reinforced material onto a continuous surface that has a convex profile and that comprises a first contoured surface of a fixed mold of a composite material lay-up tool and a second contoured surface of a movable mold of the composite material lay-up tool. The method also comprises steps of: moving the movable mold in a direction that is at least partially towards the fixed mold; breaking a continuous surface; and releasing the laminate from the composite material lay-up tool.SELECTED DRAWING: None
