To provide a cBN tool having excellent chipping resistance and abrasion resistance by improving the toughness of a cBN sintered compact.SOLUTION: Provided are a cBN sintered compact excellent in toughness, and a cBN tool having excellent chipping resistance and abrasion resistance. In the cBN sintered compact containing cBN particles and a bonding phase, the sintered compact contains 50-70 vol.% cBN particles having an average particle diameter of 0.5-5.0 μm. The bonding phase comprises a TiC phase having an average particle diameter of 0.10-0.50 μm and an AlOphase having an average particle diameter of 0.02-0.20 μm. The Ti content is 20.0-30.0 mass% and the Al content is 2.0-2.5 mass% in the bonding phase, and the free Ti in the bonding phase is 4.0 mass% or more and 10.0 mass% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
