To provide: a method for establishing a determination technique or its determination reference, for example as a companion diagnosis, in order to assist administration of mesenchymal stem cells to only a patient who has been determined to respond successfully with the mesenchymal stem cells, after patients in an improved group and a non-improved group are appropriately determined before the treatment as patients to be treated in atopic dermatitis treatment with mesenchymal stem cell transplantation; and a diagnostic kit for it.SOLUTION: A method for preliminarily predicting a therapeutic effect on atopic dermatitis symptoms is provided that includes the steps of: measuring a component amount of a target substance that is one or two or more of behenic acid, glucosamine, and mannosamine in a blood sample collected from a target patient; and diagnosing the therapeutic effect on the atopic dermatitis symptoms when mesenchymal stem cell transplantation is performed on the target patient with the use of the component amount of the target substance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
