To provide a ruby setting program and device capable of increasing not an idiom ruby but a mono ruby ratio as much as possible.SOLUTION: A ruby setting program executes: a step of setting reading of one Chinese character corresponding to each character when reading of all of characters among a plurality of characters in idioms coincides with each other; a step of setting reading of the idioms as an idiom ruby in the entire idiom when two or more Chinese characters whose reading does not coincide among the plurality of Chinese characters in the idioms are present; and a step of setting reading corresponding to the Chinese character whose reading does not coincide in reading of the idioms as reading of the Chinese character whose reading does not coincide when one Chinese character whose reading does not coincide among the plurality of Chinese characters in the idioms and setting reading of the one Chinese character corresponding to the Chinese character whose reading coincides with each other, and thereby sets a mono ruby as the entire idioms.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
