To provide a model calculation unit and a controller which can calculate a function model based on data.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a model calculation unit 3 for calculating a function model based on data in a controller 1 having an operation core 31. The operation core includes: a multiplication unit for executing a multiplication on hardware; an addition unit for executing an addition on hardware; an index function unit for calculating an index function on hardware; a memory storing a hyper parameter and sample point data of the function model based on the calculated data; a setting register; and a logic circuit for controlling the calculation processes in the multiplication unit, the addition unit, the index function unit, the memory, and especially the setting register on hardware to determine the function model based on the data.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
