PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnet for undulator which improves workability of conveyance by making magnetic flux density distribution in a connection part and in the vicinity of the connection part into magnetic flux density distribution of high stability that does not influence stability of a locus of an electron even if the magnet is connected after magnetization.;SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a permanent magnet for undulator to be used for an undulator which generates a radiant light by meandering an electron that moved forwards in a first direction. In the permanent magnet for undulator, one end face in the first direction constitutes a first connection surface to be connected with the other permanent magnet for undulator. N poles and S poles are alternately constituted in the first direction on one magnetic pole face in a second direction that is orthogonal to the first direction, thereby generating magnetic flux density distribution having multiple peaks. Regarding the multiple peaks, an m-th peak Pm (m is an integer equal to or greater than 1) is represented successively from the side of the first connection surface, a magnitude of a first peak P1 is greater than a magnitude of a third peak P3.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
