PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pharmaceutical compositions for treating or preventing delirium.SOLUTION: A pharmaceutical composition of the invention for treating or preventing delirium comprising a melatonin receptor agonist is characterized in that it is used for combination administration with a tetracycline-based antibiotic. In another embodiment, a pharmaceutical composition of the invention for treating or preventing delirium comprising a tetracycline-based antibiotic is characterized in that it is used for combination administration with a melatonin receptor agonist. The combination administration of a melatonin receptor agonist and a tetracycline-based antibiotic has a synergic effect in the treatment and prevention of delirium.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
