To calibrate a tool measurement device and work measurement device using a common standard.SOLUTION: A calibration method includes: a first step of attaching a reference tool to a principal shaft 14, attaching a standard 30 to a table 20, and reading a coordinate with the reference tool caused to contact with the standard 30; a second step of causing the reference tool to approach a work measurement element 28, and reading a coordinate when the tool measurement element 28 reacts; a third step of attaching a work measurement probe 18 to the principal shaft 14, and reading a coordinate with the work measurement probe caused to contact with the standard 30; and a fourth step of calibrating a tool measurement device 56 and work measurement device 66 on the basis of the read coordinates, and known dimensions of the reference tool and standard 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
