To allow failure influence investigation in a batch job to be comprehensive and efficient and also to allow a result of the investigation to be suitably presented in response to the need.SOLUTION: A failure influence investigation apparatus 100 has a storage device 101 for storing information relating to a hierarchical structure of a batch job relating to each job, and an arithmetic apparatus 104 for specifying, as a failure influence region, a series of jobs and job nets having input and outputs from and to one another in a job and between jobs starting from a job as an origin of an abend in a predetermined job based on input and output relationship between jobs and job nets indicated by information relating to the hierarchical structure, and for creating at least either of a directed graph connected by an edge between nodes as jobs and job nets belonging at least to the failure influence region, a list of jobs and job nets belonging to the failure influence region, and a displayed graph obtained by collecting the number of jobs or job nets belonging to the failure influence region by a job unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
