Biodegradable polymeric microsphere compositions for parenteral administration

Novel microsphere compositions for use in parenteral formulations are provided. The microspheres include biodegradable polymers of molecular weight greater than 10,000 Daltons, active therapeutic agents, and cellulose-derived materials such as ethylcellulose, carboxymethylcellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, or sodium carboxymethylcellulose. The microsphere composition reduced the deviation of the mean microsphere diameter, improved drug encapsulation and improved microsphere stability.
