PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide methods for isolating droplets for subjecting to genomic analysis without affecting a subsequent genomic analysis, and to provide genomic analysis methods.SOLUTION: A method of the present invention is a method for isolating droplets for genomic analysis, the method comprising an emulsion formation process, a nucleic acid amplification step, a detection process, and a fractionation step, the emulsion formation step being a step of contacting a sample comprising cells with an emulsion forming solvent to form in the emulsion forming solvent a plurality of droplets comprising cells in the sample, the nucleic acid amplification step being a step of amplifying a target genome comprised in a target cell with respect to the droplets, the detection step being a step of detecting the presence or absence of amplification of the target genome in the droplets, the fractionation step being a step of fractionating droplets in which the amplification of the target genome has been detected, as droplets for genomic analysis comprising an amplification product derived from the target genome of the target cell.SELECTED DRAWING: None
