To provide a highly active reduction catalyst structure for an automobile having excellent catalytic functions which suppresses the deterioration of catalytic function and to provide an exhaust gas treatment device for an automobile.SOLUTION: There is provided a reduction catalyst structure for an automobile which comprises a carrier with a porous structure composed of a zeolite-type compound and an NOreduction catalyst which is inherent in the carrier and composed of a solid acid, wherein the carrier has mutually communicating passages and the NOreduction catalyst is at least present in the passages of the carrier.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
