PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component mounting apparatus, a component mounting line, a component mounting method by the component mounting apparatus, and a component mounting method by the component mounting line capable of enhancing the mounting stability of a component on a substrate with an inexpensive configuration.;SOLUTION: A component mounting apparatus 11 includes a substrate support 41 driven by an electric motor 43 to move up and down and lifts and supports a substrate KB positioned at a work position and a mounting head 26 that mounts a component PT adsorbed by a nozzle 52 to the substrate KB by moving the nozzle 52 up and down with respect to the substrate KB supported by the substrate support 41. On the basis of the change in the control current of the electric motor 43 when the component PT is mounted on the substrate KB, the pressing force at which the nozzle 52 presses the substrate KB is detected at the time of mounting the component PT (step ST5).
