A Brillouin-based distributed bending fiber sensor and methods of using the Brillouin-based distributed bending fiber sensor are described herein. In one example, the Brillouin-based distributed bending fiber sensor is specifically configured to measure a temperature distribution (ΔT), a bending angle β, and a bending radius R along a deployed fiber (eg, a four-core fiber).
