The present disclosure provides methods and systems for automatic identification of agricultural climate zones. The method addresses receiving environmental and soil parameters from various external systems for the geographical area through one or more interaction methods. The parameters may be raw data, derived from raw data, stored in a uniform, general purpose and hierarchical format, for easy consumption. Inferences are drawn from the parameters and associated attributes by comparison to the attribute history available in the knowledge base module for the corresponding agro-climatic zone. The inferences may be made from available parameters in coding form such as images, videos and ontological knowledge. Based on the comparison, a score is generated that reflects the degree of fitness with the pre-defined agricultural climate zone. The present disclosure enables real-time intelligent reasoning regarding the classification of geographical regions, directly or based on micro-climate parameters available in coded form.
