摘要

The aim of this thesis is to test and evaluate the potential applications and limitations of some of the commercially available technologies on Automated Speed Identification (ASI). ASI has been used in some states in the United States of America as well as several countries around the world. In this thesis, some of these technologies are reviewed, and a test procedure is developed for the performance evaluation of some of the key technologies. The test plans were advertised, and three PSE technology packages were evaluated in the actual testing. Test data were collected at a test track facility. A set of metrics was then developed and used to compare these technologies. The results indicated that different technologies used for ASI each have their strengths and weaknesses; therefore, each can be applicable to a different environment.
