To provide a cap member of a ship propeller, propeller-type propulsion unit, ship and reducing method of a filler amount of rust preventing grease capable of reducing the filler amount of the rust preventing grease to fill inside the cap member of the ship propeller including a propeller boss cap fin.SOLUTION: In the state that a boss member 4 having propeller blades is inserted to a propeller shaft 3 of the ship and fixed by a fixing nut 5 on the propeller shaft 3, and in a cap member 10A of the ship propeller connected to the boss member 4 and covering the fixing nut 5, a volume reduction member 20 to reduce the space volume of the interior space is provided in the interior space of the cap member 10A of the ship propeller.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
