PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentration method which allows for increasing concentration of selenium compounds and arsenic compounds in a sample liquid containing selenium and/or arsenic in order to facilitate processing of the sample liquid.SOLUTION: A method involves: setting at least either of selenium compounds and arsenic compounds as target substances; feeding a sample liquid containing the target substances to a concentration column configured by an ion exclusion column containing an anion exchange group, to concentrate the target substances in the sample liquid inside the concentration column; subsequently feeding an eluent to the concentration column; and allowing the target substances to flow out of the concentration column. An aqueous solution containing a nitric acid and sulfate is used as the eluent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
