To provide a lighter capable of generating two different flames by turns.SOLUTION: In a lighter 1 which includes a gas container 16, a first gas circuit 26 for generating first type flames 2, a second gas circuit 24 for generating second type flames, and a driver 6 associated with a mechanism for generating sparks and in which rotation operation of the driver 6 generates sparks, the driver 6 is fitted to the lighter 1 so that it can move in parallel between a first position and a second position. At the first position, the driver 6 leaves a first circuit 26 so that gas from the container 16 can pass the first circuit 26 so as to obtain the first type flames 2; at the second position, the first circuit 26 is cut off so that the gas from the container 16 can pass the second circuit 24 so as to obtain second type flames.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
