To provide an optical trigger pulse generator capable of generating an optical trigger pulse for attenuating optical signals other than an initial optical pulse, and a label processor using the optical trigger pulse generator.SOLUTION: An optical trigger pulse generator is configured to, with an SOA 253 and an SOA driver OEIC 251 for driving the SOA 253, an amplitude initial optical pulse of an incoming optical packet 10 so as to align with a gain peak of the SOA 253. The optical trigger pulse generator is configured to transmit the optical pulse of the optical packet 10 having higher energy than a predetermined threshold, and connect, to an output side of the SOA 253, an optical rectification element 52 for blocking an optical signal having energy less than the predetermined threshold.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
