PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel technology to directly and efficiently control flower setting applicable at citrus cultivation sites, more specifically, to provide a novel technology for controlling flower setting, not only to suppress flower setting but also to directly enhance flower setting (not the indirect maintenance of flower numbers by maintaining tree vitality).SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for controlling flower setting in citrus plants comprising use of means described in the following (A) or (B): (A) means for increasing the flower setting number due to increase of abscisic acid perception signals in vegetative branches; (B) means for reducing the flower setting number due to decrease or disappearance of abscisic acid perception signals in vegetative branches.
