To effectively or efficiently monitor a content related to a torrent file or a swarm computer that distributes (or shares) the content.SOLUTION: One or more BitTorrent management pages, such as an index site or a Rich Site Summary (RSS) feed, are scanned for searching for an indicia of a torrent file that is associated with one or more search terms, and information associated with the torrent file is used to start downloading of one or more portions of a content indicated by the torrent file. While the content is being downloaded from swarm computers, identification information associated with each swarm computer is acquired, and data associated with the torrent file and the identification information are stored in a database. A client searches the database to locate one or more swarm computers that may distribute unauthorized information or illegal information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
