PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbo rotation speed estimation apparatus and a turbo rotation speed estimation method in which estimation accuracy of a turbo rotation speed is improved.SOLUTION: A first correction processing section 412 calculates pressure P3 by applying correction for pressure loss of an intercooler to boost pressure Pim outputted from a boost pressure sensor. A second correction processing section 414 calculates pressure P3 by applying correction for pressure loss of an air cleaner to an output of an atmospheric pressure sensor. A pressure ratio calculation section 416 calculates a pressure ratio P3/P1 between inlet pressure and outlet pressure of a compressor from correction results of the first correction processing section 412 and the second correction processing section 414. A rotation speed calculation section 418 receives the pressure ratio calculated by the pressure ratio calculation section 416 and an air flow rate F of an intake passage and calculates a rotation speed Nt of the compressor. The second correction processing section 414, when a deterioration degree of the air cleaner is advanced, performs correction for increasing a correction amount of the pressure loss of the air cleaner.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
