PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device having an improved ease of attachment, and a projection device using this light source device.;SOLUTION: The light source device includes: a holding member 60 that includes a sealing member 63, an abutting surface 62, and an engaging unit (third flange part 64, and fourth flange part 65), and holds components; and a light source case 50 that includes a butted surface 72 abutting on the abutting surface 62 via the sealing member 63 and an engaged portion (first flange part 74, and second flange part 75) engaging with the engaging unit, and holds the holding member 60.
