PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract an appropriate specific area according to a subject.;SOLUTION: A subject detection device includes: a binarization processing unit that generates a plurality of different binarized images by using an image to be processed; an evaluation value calculation unit that obtains a reference point from the center of gravity of a pixel area of a subject candidate included in the binarized image for an image region of the subject candidate extracted from each of the binarized image, and calculates an evaluation value indicating the subject likeness of the pixel region by using the moment of inertia from the reference point; and an extraction unit that extracts a pixel area corresponding to a specific area of the image to be processed using the evaluation value.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
