A method and system for analyzing electrocardiogram (ECD) data to identify whether it is beneficial for a caregiver to attempt to return the heart to a normal pattern and a constant strong heartbeat and to apply an electric shock to the heart. By having an execution check against conditions pre-validated by a comprehensive patient database to have a high predictive value (eg, with a low false positive rate), the shock adaptation rhythm is fast (eg, less than 6 seconds, 3 Subseconds, perhaps less than 1 second), and ECG data over longer time segments as required when using conventional methods need not be analyzed.
