An optical imaging system capable of performing autofocus during a medical procedure and capable of easily comparing images between different medical centers. An optical imaging system for imaging a target during a medical procedure, the system including an optical assembly including a movable zoom optical system and a movable focus optical system. The system also includes a zoom actuator and a focus actuator for positioning the zoom optical system and the focus optical system, respectively. The system further includes a controller for independently controlling the zoom actuator and the focus actuator in response to the received control input, and a camera for capturing an image of the target from the optical assembly.
