PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable air electrode of a solid oxide type fuel cell, which is allowed to exhibit superior characteristics under use environments of intermediate and low temperature regions, and which enables the achievement of a high level of fuel cell characteristics even in use in the intermediate and low temperature regions.SOLUTION: An air electrode for SOFC comprises a porcelain composition expressed by the general formula: [LnA(Ba)][BB'B"(Al)]Oδ(1). In the formula, Ln represents one element selected from La, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb and Dy, which are lanthanoids or a combination of two or more elements selected therefrom; A represents one element selected from Sr and Ca or a combination thereof; and B represents one element selected from Co and Fe or a combination thereof; the mole number of Co is 50% or more to a total mole number x of the element B; B' represents one element selected from In and Y or a combination thereof; and B" represents one element selected from Nb and Ta or a combination thereof.SELECTED DRAWING: None
