PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic motor whose lowering in driving efficiency is reduced.SOLUTION: The ultrasonic motor includes: a vibrator formed by fastening a diaphragm having a sliding part and a piezo-electric element; and a part to be driven having a contact surface brought into frictional contact with the sliding part. The diaphragm has projection parts in a longer direction and a shorter direction relative to the piezo-electric element. By the sliding part being elliptically vibrated with a plurality of orthogonal vibrations exited by the piezo-electric element, the part to be driven and the vibrator are relatively moved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
