A clamping device for applying pressure to the human limb. The device has a first rigid portion having a first inner profile and a second rigid portion generally opposite the first inner profile. When the device is in the clamping position, the first and second inner profiles are arranged to apply clamping pressure to the human limb, thereby applying clamping pressure to a blood vessel in the limb. The device further includes a coupling that couples the first and second rigid portions while allowing relative movement of the first and second rigid portions between a clamped position and an unclamped position. The expandable element is at least partially disposed along at least one of the first inner profile and the second inner profile. The expandable element is expandable to apply additional pressure to the limb when the clamping device is placed on the limb, and is expandable to reduce the additional pressure.
